Today I fabricated the elevator up-stop which does double duty as a mounting point for the vertical stabilizer. It’s a horizontal piece that sits across he rear deck. It turns out that we couldn’t hit full throw anyway so it took some investigating to figure out what was binding. We found that the rod end under the control stick was bottoming out in its mounts before the elevator was hitting the stop. A little bit of grinding gave it plenty of clearance and let the stop do its job correctly. It took me over an hour to get that rod end bolt on the bottom of the control column back in place. I’m getting really tired of the hard to fit series of bolts and washers on all the control mounts.
