The group got together for breakfast at the hotel, it really was energizing to see everyone again. I hope we’re able to meet up again before the end of the trail.
I picked up my new insoles this morning before hitting the trail, they don’t have as much arch support as I’m used to but my feet held up until I passed mile 20 today. It’s a big improvement and I hope they do as well tomorrow.
The walking north of Harpers has been some of the easiest miles thus far. The trails are nicely groomed and there haven’t been any big climbs so far. There are some rocks, but they’re big and easy to step around – not ankle breakers.
There are lots of historical buildings and revolutionary war history near the trail through this area. I saw the Maryland Washington monument, which appears to be undergoing renovations.
I lost the light sooner than I expected and ended up camping near Annapolis Rock about 2 miles shy of where I’d planned on camping. It’s not a bad spot, but I realized later that it’s directly above the Annapolis drag strip and there’s summer racing tonight. Normally I’m all about fast cars and loud noises, but it’s gonna keep me from sleeping for a while tonight.
