I’m really excited to be back on the trail. The shuttle picked us up at 1030 and we were following white blazes again.
The whole crew agreed to cover 15 miles today and set off at their own pace. El Dorado’s knee is still bugging him and my feet were back to hurting after just a few miles so we hobbled along together. Somewhere along the way Ric Flair found a puppers.
Kacy ordered me new insoles that I’ll pick up at Harpers Ferry, I’m still hopeful I’ll find a set that doesn’t hurt as much soon. These new soles have more metatarsal support, so maybe that’ll fix my problems.
I’m really excited that Harpers is finally only a couple of days away, it’s such a big landmark for the trail. I’ll do 18 miles the next two days and then it’ll be an easy 4 miles Saturday morning into town where Festus and Bubbles will be waiting.
Today marks 3 months on the trail for me and I’m far shorter of the 1/2 mark than I was hoping to be. After Harpers I’m planning on doing ~100 miles a week to make up the time. I’m still planning to take a week off at the end of July for Oshkosh, so if I get a week ahead of the tramily we may still be able to finish together.
