The campsite last night wasn’t great, sand got everywhere and there were a ton of ticks around. I still slept well with the sound of the dam for background noise.
We had to replace one of the patches on the leaky boat, but I’m impressed how well these boats have held up overall.
We stopped at a road crossing in Alma to resupply water and beer at a gas station. Found some Four Locos in the beer section, it’s been ages since any of us had one so we bought a few. They’re as terrible as we all remembered, but effective.
Portage to get around the Luray dam was a little tricky, there’s no public trail nearby. Eventually we found a home owner to ask if we could use his property, he was very accommodating.
Generally, the day was just floating along. The fun factor has officially worn off of rafting and I’m ready to get back to hiking.
