We left the hotel around 11 am and got back on the trail. It was a fairly easy day as far as the terrain went. Still, it was a fairly slow day – El Dorado’s knee is still sore from the fall off of Dragon’s tooth.
My feet still aren’t doing well either, the high heel inserts help, but since they’re not designed for men’s shoes it’s hard to keep them in place. It takes a few tries to get the shoe one the foot with the insoles in the right place. If I get it right, they seem to help – but it’s still annoying.
There wasn’t a lot of scenery today but by the afternoon we were following the famous Blue Ridge Parkway. We stopped at a decent overlook for dinner.
A few miles later we stopped at the shelter to refill our water bottles. We’d planned to cover more miles today, El D needs to be in Glasgow on Friday, but we were both hurting and once we’d reached the shelter we didn’t have motivation to keep going.
