Finished up the last few clean up and prep bits on the left lower wing skin and started bucking it into place. Found some foam blocks to help hold it up and gain access. Took a few hours of slow going and we made it about 2/3 of the way through the left wing skin. Lots of bending and reaching and stretching but eventually it went on very well. We had a few rivets that had to be replaced, but nothing out of the ordinary for bucking. We checked every rivet as we went to make sure things were driven properly and I’m really happy with the result.
Once that side was finished we moved on to the right. More of the same. Kacy ran the gun and I held the bucking bar for a couple hundred more rivets. If you look closely at the conduit that I ran in the wing, you’ll notice its up by the top skin instead of down by the bottom skin. This is because I can’t keep track of up and down and I installed it in the wrong spot. I’ll have to correct this later, but I didn’t catch it in time before we installed the bottom skin. Where its located right now interferes with the smaller aileron push rod. The wing looks really cloudy in this picture, but its just a reflection from my garage ceiling.
